"The Guns of Deschain" is an illustrated seven-page short story written by Robin Furth that was originally published in issue #3 of The Gunslinger Born.

The story concerns the origin of Roland Deschain's Big Irons, the slow recovery of the human race following "the Old People's final obliterating war," and the rise of Arthur Eld, who battled the mutant serpent Saita along with his knights in order to protect the city of Gilead.
