Michael "Mike" Hanlon was one of the members and the last member to join The Losers' Club, also the "Lucky Seven" and only African American child in the group. He is one of the characters from It , who lived in Derry, Maine. He is good friends with Bill Denbrough, Stan Uris, Eddie Kaspbrak, Beverly Marsh, Richie Tozier and Ben Hanscom.
1958
When he is racially persecuted by Henry Bowers and his gang, the Losers fight back against The Bowers Gang in a massive rock fight. They became the "Lucky Seven" when Mike wanted to join in the group.
1985
Mike is the only one of the Losers to stay behind in Derry (and thus the only one to retain his memory of the events of 1958) and becomes the town librarian. He is the one, who beckons the others back, when the killings begin again in 1985. His father kept an album filled with photos that were important to Derry's history, including several of Pennywise the Clown. Through the knowledge he acquires of Derry and It, he becomes an amateur historian of the town. He is seriously wounded by Henry Bowers and nearly dies. He later recovers from his wounds, but, like the others, starts to lose his memory of the experience.
