Gresham Arnold was a minor character in the horror novel, It. During his adolescent years, he was a popular and highly-influential basketball player who led the Hemingford Rams into winning their first major high school championship in 1961.
Despite attaining such early and promising success, his post high-school years would prove to be a massive struggle. After developing a strong alcohol and drug addiction, he dropped out of his first year of University. He was later employed as a financial salesman by his father (who owned and managed the dealership company). However, his alcohol addiction would often prevent him from being able to maintain focus and concentration on his employment.
Unable to cope with his chronic stress, he eventually committed suicide by hanging himself (using his belt) in his bedroom's closet.
