Garrett Coyne was a prisoner in Shawshank State Prison who was notorious for extending his life sentence through acts of violence. Covering in swastika tattoos, Coyne received a new cellmate in the form of a mysterious prisoner. The new warden, Theresa Porter, hoped that Coyne would kill the Kid. Instead, Coyne was found dead in the cell. An autopsy revealed that he had died of metastasised cancer that should have caused him great pain.
