"Dedication" is a short story written by Stephen King. It was first published in the 1989 anthology Dark Visions, and later included in King's own 1993 collection Nightmares and Dreamscapes.


A black house maid works in a hotel and an eccentric alcoholic, and prejudiced, writer who is a frequent guest there, and recounts the story of the lengths to which she was willing to go to ensure the success of her own son.
