Children of the Corn is a made-for-television movie based on Stephen King's short story "Children of the Corn." It did receive some praise from Stephen King fans for the acting of the children, as well as staying true to the original premise of the story, but was criticized for being too repetitive.
Production[]
The film, much like the original, did not have Stephen King's involvement, although it was based off of an unused script for a movie based on the original novel, written by King himself. Also like the original, it was filmed on-location in Iowa, which is located next to Nebraska, where the film takes place.
The independent movie, which was written, directed, and produced by Donald P. Borchers, aired on the Syfy Channel on 26 September 2009 and released on DVD on 6 October 2009. The movie is a remake of the 1984 film.
